It is possible to begin your event in the garden and continue within the château's inner spaces. 

Receptions held on the great lawn in front of the moat offer a superb view of the castle. On the other side of the drawbridge, within fortified walls, an open-air courtyard can accommodate an aperitif or buffet for 75, or a sit-down dinner for up to 60 guests. 

Music, food, and bar stations can be set up throughout the property. For intimate dinner parties, guests will be invited to sit down in the Lord’s dining room for a fantasy come true. Yes, there are thrones from the 15th-century table in front of the enormous fireplace. Yes, there are crowns for the guests of honor, and a massive medieval chandelier and armor in the corner. This room can accommodate 12 people at the main table, and 20 if another table is set up. The front lawn can accommodate 120 guests for a reception or an aperitif. 

The village boasts beautiful pastoral landscapes along the Aveyron river with wonderful views of the château from its historic bridge, just across from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The château is primarily a venue only, and with the exception of the tower suite, but accommodations for about 100 guests are available in the village in gîtes, B&B’s and a hotel. (reservations required).

The Château is a historic landmark, normally open to the public. About 30,000 visitors every season are welcomed to enjoy a self-guided tour throughout the fortress and discover the history, architecture, and exhibition spaces within it. People often comment about the wonderful experience of feeling so much life within the ancient stones. Your guests will be invited to take a complimentary guided tour or follow their feet to explore on their own. The château’s rich history begins in its 8th-century pre-Romanesque chapel. 

On the day of your event, part of the property is privatized for your wedding party at 13:00h. Our lovely upper garden area is the perfect place for an “inner circle” luncheon. This area has a cool, medieval gazebo, plenty of courtyard seating, space for a little buffet, and convenient access to the wedding parties' private rooms. The space within the castle for the wedding party includes a huge bathroom, and a large sitting room with a dining table that seats 14. There is wifi and a crib area. The private pool garden area is yours for a spectacular photo shoot. It is also an extremely fun place for a pool party the day after. Swimming in the pool next to the vaulting tower with a view of the landscape is a guaranteed epic memory. 

During the low season, it is Prices in low season start at €4,500 HT for a six hour reception for up to 100 people from 19:00h- 1:00h, (and access to the property for the wedding party begins at 13:00h). Included is a large commercial kitchen for the caterer, available at 14:00h. Guests have free municipal parking, just above the castle, and have access to the property until 1:00h. The principal exterior reception areas are on the main lawn, in front of the moat, in the main courtyard, an upper garden courtyard, a secret “ruins courtyard”, and on a bridge above the main courtyard with its panoramic view. Bar and buffet stations may be set up outside and within the château as well, and there is plenty of room to have the whole party inside. If you're looking for a unique experience, the Château of Belcastel is like none other!

Afternoon exterior possibilities : 

• The swimming pool area is available for private parties. Up to 24 guests may be invited for any four hours between 10:00 -18:00h. Access to the public areas of the château and a self-guided tour during public hours is included in the price of €600.00 HT. The venue includes a beautiful pool and lawn with a view on the village and valley. In-house catering for brunch, a picnic or an aperitif is available upon request. Note* Suite must be booked in advance by hosts for that night.

• Exterior aperitif : The upper garden is ideal for a private luncheon or aperitif from 12:00h-16:00h. Access to all the public areas of the château and a self-guided tour for up to 24 guests is included with a lovely sparkling aperitif with house made bites for the price of €600.00 HT. The shady, romantic venue above the fresh water moat has an ancient tower that serves as a buffet and drink station, and there is a beautiful view of the castle and its surroundings. (*note this garden is accessible only by a circular medieval stairway). 

Evening possibilities :

• Evening possibilities : The great lawn is a memorable place for a three-hour aperitif dinatoire from 18:00h-21:00h. Up to 60 guests will enjoy sparkling wine and house made appetizers set up inside and outside the castle. The price of €1500.00 HT. includes guided tours for your guests. Catering for dinner is available upon request.

• Intimate reception and sit-down dinner in the Lord’s Dining room for 6–12 people, catered by us, priced per person. Champagne and cocktail aperitif. One menu with locally sourced organic products and premium wine. €96 per person; more information.

Exterior space includes : Front garden, main inner courtyard, with its bridge and view of the village, the upper garden with its medieval gazebo and panoramic view, the ancient cistern, 8th century chapel, cistern, 10th century knight’s room and prison, ruins courtyard and public bathrooms and sitting areas throughout.

Interior spaces includes exterior spaces plus : an 11th century chapel, the principal gallery with its’ balcony and spectacular view, another smaller gallery dedicated to the architect Fernand Pouillon, the blue room with its’ exhibition space and views, and the Lord’s dining room. For interior events, there is plenty of space to have a sit-down dinner and or dancing. Your guests will enjoy wandering through the medieval labyrinth, discovering friends, and buffet stations, or whatever you choose to set up throughout the château. 

Private space includes : For the hosts or wedding party, a large dining / lounge area with wifi, a very large bathroom and a small kitchen. Accessible directly from the upper garden. The pool and garden while suite is booked. When the entire château is booked, the suite is included for the night of the event. 

Included in every reception :

• Exclusive access to private rooms within the keep, including a large sitting room with wifi, a huge bathroom, and a commercial kitchen. Available to caterer and wedding party after 14:00h on the day of the event.

• Free parking for the suite guests at the castle, and for guests, free in a municipal lot 22 meters above the castle 

• Professional sound system for music, with microphone

• Tables and chairs available for a ceremony, reception or dinner party

• Restrooms for guests located near the prison.

• A manager on site to assist your wedding planner with smooth operations and allow access to the property for catering professionals and deliveries on the day before and day of the event. 

• Use of kitchen, including professional equipment, one commercial refrigerator and dishwasher (no freezer). Available at 14h00 for an evening event 

Optional :

• The castle team is available for hire to work with host’s event coordinator, or to provide all-inclusive event planning services. Prices available on request.

• We can propose and prepare an aperitif with hot or cold hors d’oeuvres.

• A guided tour may be booked in advance for €5 per person on the day that interior space is booked. Normally, a self-guided visit is €10, and €7 for a group of 12+. 

• For an additional fee, we can provide a waitstaff to pass drinks and hors d’oeuvres, and staff to assist your event planner, and to set up and clean up the event.

• Guests on your list who wish to visit the château early on the day of the event for a self-guided tour may pay a discounted admission fee of €5

• The suite must be booked for an evening reception and for the private pool area to be accessible.

• Nearest airport is Rodez- 20 minutes away. There is a train station in Rodez, too.
