Visit Château Belcastel

The Château of Belcastel is a medieval castle  located in the Aveyron region of France. Since it was opened to the public in 2005, people from around the world have discovered the rich history of this warrior fortress through a self-guided tour.  Visitors cross the drawbridge over a moat, and journey through the castle and its gardens, with its lush courtyards, medieval chapels, prison and superb views.

Fernand Pouillon, the visionary architect, devoted himself completely to the restoration of the building after discovering it in ruins in 1973. Now, the architect's former private residence stands as an architectural gem and a historical monument housing a unique exhibition- a medieval beastiary.
