Arrival and departure:

15:00-18:00. If you arrive after 19:00 onwards, there is a late fee of €15 per hour.

We ask that you vacate the room by 11am. You may remain on the property to have a self-guided tour with the brochure or audio-guide, and if you ask in advance, it may be possible to remain at the pool until 12:00.

Customers must pay 50% of the total amount if they cancel within 14 days of arrival.
A 50% deposit is required 2 weeks in advance of arrival date, and non-refundable for cancellations within 2 weeks of reservation date.
In the event of a no-show, the full amount of the reservation must be paid.
Parking:

Yes, there is a parking space reserved for guests of the suite, right at the main gate, with a special permit that you will receive on arrival.

Parking for suite guests is on the road, just alongside the Chateau wall close to the entrance gate for suite guests in the spaces marked, PARKING RÉSERVÉ, Chambre d’hôtes.

No, the parking spaces are not covered.

Yes, but the nearest charging facility is in Rignac, 10 minutes west of the chateau.

There is only one suite for guests, which accommodates two people.

High season and special occasions are often booked a year in advance. If your dates are flexible, you can normally book with short notice. Check our availability by looking at the calendar at the bottom of the Tower Suite page.

Yes. The room has two levels: the living room and bathroom with tub on the main floor, and the bedroom on the first. Access to the room is by spiral medieval stairs. There are 58 steps from the gate to the upstairs bedroom.

No, the historic monument has a total of 124 steps to ascend for the visit. We are happy to let someone roll in for a reduced price, right through the gate, and enjoy the exhibition in the front garden. There is shade, and we will also let you borrow an official guidebook, full of photographs, including a glimpse into the private donjon.

Yes, there is wifi in the room, and it is complimentary.

There is a no smoking rule inside the suite, but we provide an ashtray, and guests are permitted to smoke outside, on their private balcony and at the pool.

There is endless filtered water, coffee and tea. There is a refrigerator and everything you need to serve a picnic- just bring the food. Robes, pool towels, and premium bath products are also provided.

Champagne, flowers and special requests, like an aperitif set up at the pool to celebrate an engagement are available with advance notice. Get inspired with photos and videos on our social media profiles!
Stay:

No. The castle is inhabited, and normally there are other people on the property at all times.

Yes. During opening hours, you can take the full self-guided tour of this medieval fortress. The visit is done by following a numbered path in a leaflet that you will receive upon arrival, or with an audio guide by scanning the QR code at the entrance. Feel free to ask questions to any member of our staff.

Yes. There is also a sample of it in your room. It features 60 color photographs of the chateau, including its private rooms. This guidebook is available in our gift shop for 5 euros in French and English.

After the Château closes to the public (18:00 in low season, 19:00 in high season), suite guests can access the exterior parts of the property: the private pool, the courtyard, gardens, and patio.

The room accommodates two adults sharing one bed, and for this reason we have an adults only policy. Exceptionally, with previous notice, a baby that sleeps in a crib will be permitted.

Dogs up to 10kg are welcome on request.

You can visit the beautiful little chapel and see the tomb of one of the chateau’s ancestors, Alzias de Saunas, as well as photograph the historic bridge, pastoral landscapes and the medieval houses and gardens in one of France’s official Most Beautiful Villages of France. There is an authentic forge museum to visit, and some cute little artisan shops.

As well as visiting the chateau and the beautiful village of Belcastel below the castle, the entire region of Aveyron is full of things to do and see. The suite has a book for guests to discover information about the region and its local restaurants.
Pool:

Yes. The pool is privatized for our Tower Suite guests, so you can access it at any time during your stay.

During high season the water is clean and fresh, heated naturally, by the sun that shines above the south side of the castle most days. The pool property and garden is always a fine place for an apéritif with a spectacular view.

Yes, you may access the pool during opening hours.

Guests may invite up to four friends to visit and enjoy an apéritif in the courtyard or an afternoon at the pool area during normal hours of operation. Friends must enter through the gift shop and pay the price of a normal admission. They may also tour the château. ,
Food:

Yes. A continental breakfast with juice and coffee, tea or chocolate, fresh local fruit and pastries, yogurt and organic butter and jam is included with the reservation. It is served on the gallery balcony, overlooking the Aveyron Valley and the medieval village of Belcastel, or inside the principal gallery, depending on the weather.

Yes. The local bakery doesn’t make gluten-free pastries, but tell us in advance, and we will propose an alternative for any kind of restriction. We always have a dairy-free option for milk available.

No. However, charcuterie board with local cheese and market specialities can be prepared for your stay, with advance notice of two days. Private dinners for a minimum of 4 people can be organized with advance notice. Do not hesitate to inquire about our recommendations for local restaurants.

Cold wine, a wonderful dry sparkling Gaillac, soft drinks and ice cream are all available in our gift shop. It is possible to order a charcuterie board with local cheese and market specialities.

Suite is available from April thru October.
Check in time 15:00-18:00h. If delayed, guests must call the chateau for late check-in approval (11pm max). +33 (0)565 64 42 16. If guests arrive more than 1h after check in hour, they will be charged 15€ extra euros per hour.
Check out time is 11:00h. Upon request, after vacating the suite at 11:00h for housekeeping, guests may occupy the pool garden until noon, and thereafter remain on the property in public areas to enjoy a picnic or self-guided tour during normal operating hours.
Reservations are held with a 30% deposit. Deposits and gift certificates for low, mid and high seasons can be paid by credit card here. Checks in Euros can be made out to AMI and mailed to: Chateau de Belcastel, 12390 BELCASTEL (FRANCE).
If the reservation is cancelled 10 days or more in advance, the entire deposit is refunded, or can be held to secure a different date.
Your deposit serves as an acknowledgement that you have read and understand our policies, and release and hold harmless the Chateau de Belcastel and any of its members from any claims resulting from mishap or any loss or damage incurred to you or any members of your party during your stay.
*One small dog* is OK. (Up to 10 kilos).
No lifeguard is on duty at the swimming pool, and guests swim at their own risk.
